Die vorliegende Studie bedient sich der Repertory Grid Methode um die Sicht der deutschen Bevölkerung auf die Olympischen Spiele zu analysieren. Die Repertory Grid Methode ermöglicht die Verbindung von qualitativer und quantitativer Forschung, wodurch neuartige Ergebnisse gewonnen werden können. Hierfür wurden 30 Repertory Grid Interviews mit einer möglichst heterogenen Gruppe geführt. Die Ergebnisse zeigen, dass die Ablehnung Olympischer Spiele, die zuletzt in Form der gescheiterten Referenden zum Ausdruck kam, insbesondere auf das negative Image der Verbände IOC, FIFA und DOSB zurückzuführen ist. Weiterhin entsprechen die Olympischen Spiele von heute nicht den von der Bevölkerung gewünschten Olympischen Spielen. Die Studie gibt Aufschluss, wie die idealen Olympischen Spiele der Bevölkerung aussehen und damit wie sich die heutigen Olympischen Spiele verändern müssen, um wieder an Akzeptanz zu gewinnen. Während die Verbände stark abgelehnt werden, zeigt die Untersuchung, dass der Sport an sich positiv bewertet wird und die Olympische Idee für positive Werte in der Bevölkerung steht. The present study uses the Repertory Grid method to analyze the view of the German population on the Olympic Games. The Repertory Grid method allows the combination of qualitative and quantitative research, which leads to novel results. For this purpose, 30 Repertory Grid interviews were conducted. The results show that the rejection of the Olympic Games, which was recently expressed in the form of failed referenda, is due in particular to the negative image of the IOC, FIFA and DOSB. Furthermore, there is a large discrepancy between the Olympic Games of today and the Olympic Games desired by the population. The study provides information on what the ideal Olympic Games of the population look like and how the Olympic Games of today must change in order to regain acceptance. While the associations are strongly rejected, the study shows that the sport itself is evaluated positively and that the Olympic idea stands for positive values in the population.
