Biomechanical efficiency in elite athletes of sprint roller ski

International competition in sprint roller ski (SRS) represent an interesting investigation ield, also for possible comparison with the corresponding performance in sprint Cross-country skiing (SCCS). Previous investigations analyzed the kinematic and kinetic haracteristics of SCCS and SRS under laboratory conditions (Sandbak et a., 2011, 2013; Stöggl & Müller 2009; Stöggl et al., 2010, 2011) but not under competitions. according to previous classification the technique used here corresponds to the V2-alt (also G4), i.e. where the poling movement is synchronized with the leg push-off on one side (the strong side). Thus, in the present study, we collected the data at the final World Cup Competition 2016 in Trento. The aim of this study was to investigate the biomechanical characteristics of elite athletes and to explore possible differences between the best and the last performances.
